Passionate about creating songs with a meaning, the 24-year-old has been inspired by his experiences in life with three-year-old son Jayden, who has a form of epilepsy called West Syndrome.

To complement this he uses a distinctive acoustic guitar and synthesized sound to create the sound of a whole band performing at once.

“I’m really excited for people to hear this track,” he said. “It’s about my version of what the music industry is all about.

“I want people to engage with me and help me in eradicating negative music from bands put together in TV shows, which is dominating the industry, and bring back live music. You can’t beat that.

“At Brookfield I played the drums in everything. I was in the jazz band, the concert band, Rock Academy, the samba band, the soul band and I would stay behind to practice all the time.

“Dabbling in all types of music styles at school broadened my knowledge and interest and it allows me to incorporate different types of music in my songs.

“I learned to play the guitar by looking on YouTube and learned how to beat box becuase I’ve always enjoyed that. It all stemmed from doing all this different stuff at Brookfield.”

Remedysounds lived in Sarisbury Green before joining the Armed Forces aged 16, but left in 2011 to pursue his enthusiasm for music.

After he was runner up in the acoustic category of Live and Unsigned in 2012, he had the opportunity to support nationwide stars including JLS, Labyrinth, Katy B and Tinchy Stryder.

Since then he has met some of musician idols, including Luke Concannon whose hit tune the JCB Song Remedysounds has covered.

And his debut EP MakingMoves reached 7th position last year in the iTunes chart surpassing Ed Sheeran and Frank Turner.

Now he lives in Southampton and has been touring festivals this summer, while working on his album – which is likely to be released in the new year – and the debut single.

“I’ve always been into music and I wanted to write my own songs. I really resent the music industry for being boy band-controlled – where people turn up to a TV show and get put together like One Direction and get the biggest fan base I’ve ever seen.

“I’ve always thought there’s a really honest kind of music out there playing my sort of music but it’s not being recognised by anyone.

“It’s really important that a song has an important message. My songs are always about stories whether they’re about me or someone else. I just feel there’s not enough of that in the world that people can relate to.

“There have been times where I’ve found it really hard where my son is in the hospital all the time and going through so much. I wrote about him in one called Jayden’s Song.

“He inspires me to write these songs. It’s those kinds of songs I really want people to listen to. I’ve sacrificed a lot to begin a music career and I want to be able to provide for my girlfriend and my son and his treatments.”

His future plans include a performance at The Railway in Winchester supporting Luke Concannon and Jimmy Davis on October 2. He has also been approached by Newton Faulkner’s management to write a charity song to follow up to one Remedysounds did about Drummer Lee Rigby who was shot in London.

Remedysounds’ single I’ll Give You What You Need can be downmloaded from iTunes.
